Progression Pathway
programme at Fircroft
College gives you the
opportunity to
learn new
skills and start to gain
qualifications, which
will help you to get on in
life and in work.
It also offers the
opportunity for some people
to go straight to working at
a higher level towards
gaining a full level 2
Certificate – a
qualification which is
sought after and recognised
by employers. |

Progression Pathway courses
cover the following subject
areas:

Gateway to Learning
– if you’re new to Fircroft or
to learning, we recommend you
enrol on this course as a
starter point. This course runs
frequently throughout the year

Skills for Life – the
Maths and English skills you
need to get on in work and life
-
ICT
- basic computing skills
including word processing,
Internet, email, spreadsheets
and more
-
Skills for Work
– helping you to get a job and
setting you on the right career
path
-
Personal and Social Development
– improving your personal
wellbeing, confidence and social
skills
-
Skills for Learning
– helping you to further develop
your skills and progress to a
higher level

Who is the Progression Pathway for?
This Pathway is most suitable if
you:

have no qualifications or a few
low-level qualifications
-
need to build your academic
achievements at the right pace
and level for you
-
have been or are currently out
of work
-
are in a job with very limited
opportunities to train
-
have been out of formal learning
for many years
