Preparing to Teach in the
Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
The Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
award is a new course at Fircroft College, developed in conjunction with the
University of Warwick. It is a nationally recognised introductory qualification
designed to help people who teach, tutor or train in the voluntary and community
sector.
The PTLLS award will give you the skills and understanding required for teaching
in this sector and can also lead towards further teaching qualifications for
either an Associate Teacher Learning and Skills Status or Qualified Teacher
Learning and Skills Status.
When is it running?
It will be delivered in two parts, both of which will run over four days
(including three nights residency at the College). There is a six week interval
between both parts to allow for reflection and the completion of a number of
assignments, including a presentation. Tutors can be contacted via email during
this period.
Part 1 runs from Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd October. Part 2 runs from Tuesday
2nd to Friday 5th December (the first ‘day’ of each course consists solely of a
welcome and introduction, with the following 3 days as full timetable days).
There is also a pre-course introductory session on Monday 22nd September which
all students are required to attend.
