Fircroft College has long been committed to its goals of social justice for all. As part of our ongoing commitment to practising what we preach, we have put ourselves through the Investors in People accreditation. Sure, it was hard work but it was certainly worth it! And, not only did we get accredited, we also achieved the Gold standard - quite the achievement given that this is only given out to 7% of organisations who undertake the Investors in People accreditation.

If we may give ourselves a pat on the back for a moment…

We’re certain that you’re delighted for us, but you may have some questions.

What exactly does all of this mean and why did we achieve a gold standard for our work?

In a nutshell we were awarded this standard due to:

  • A strong and consistent set of values
  • Clear leadership and direction
  • High levels of staff engagement; a high level of pride and passion in delivering an outstanding student experience
  • A detailed understanding of our community, and the impact of our work within the communities that we work in
  • Positivity!

Not only that, it was noted in the overall report that our people are dedicated to encouraging continuous improvements within the college; achieving high standards of teaching, learning and support for students that far exceeds the classroom but extends to the quality of food, cleanliness and experience of being on campus. The Fircroft team want to ensure student comfort as well as a positive learning experience.

We’ve achieved the gold standard by setting the standard.
