Residential at the college

Would you like to discover a creative and fun way to reduce your nerves, stress and anxiety? Do you enjoy activities which allow you to feel happy and relaxed? If so, this course is designed to help you do just that. This residential course gives you time to explore and further develop your art and creativity in a comfortable and serene setting. The purpose of the course is to develop your wellbeing.

Here at Fircroft we are all for supporting our learners with wellbeing and we know that wellbeing through arts and crafts is something that everyone will enjoy.  The sessions are relaxed and are suitable for anyone who is facing stress and anxiety. Your time on this course will enable you to try a variety of craft techniques to see what helps you to find your peaceful place.

Not only do we use outbuilding and classrooms, we have extensive grounds and we fully believe in using them within the learning experience.  You may find yourself outside producing a still art painting to help you to relax or using sustainable materials to enjoy some weaving whilst enjoying our outdoor learning classroom.

This course is for anyone who would like to use arts and crafts in a positive way in order to reduce stress.  The course will also support you to identify and use arts and crafts, to build on your own wellbeing.

Meet your Tutor

Patricia Blackman

The tutor for this course has worked in education for a number of years.  Trish recently became semi-retired but wanted to continue to ‘give back’ to learners.  Trish’s background is in art and textiles and this is also where her passion lies.  So when it comes to art for wellbeing, you will find you have a tutor with a wealth of knowledge who wants to use that knowledge in order to support learners to fond their passion for art and use it productively to improve their wellbeing.
