In life we all experience rejection therefore this course can be open for all. If you find it difficult to cope or if you know someone who finds it difficult to cope with rejection, this course is for you.

Rejection is something that all individuals will experience at some point in their life. For example, being rejected from a job, a friend, experiencing a breakdown of a relationship or being abandoned by your own family.

Coping with rejection is a difficult and challenging experience. When we are rejected we can often feel angry, anxious, depressed and upset. Individuals who have experienced rejection can sometimes become fearful of experiencing it again. Therefore, they may begin to isolate themselves and step back from creating new friendships, connections and exploring new opportunities.

This course will explore what rejection is, the different types of rejection, what happens to us as a result of rejection and it will provide suggestions of how we may cope with it.

After successfully completing this course you will be able to:

  • Be able to define rejection
  • Explore the common emotions and behaviours associated with rejection
  • Outline the different types of rejection
  • Begin to apply effective coping strategies
