Following on from the successes of the Green Changemakers programme for educators, the Green Skills: Building the Future courses, Mother Garden Bootcamps and the launch of the Cross Pollinator course, this Community Green Changemakers course is our newest sustainability offer.

Residential Dates:

10am Friday 4th July – 4pm Sunday 6th July

10am Friday 18th July – 4pm Sunday 20th July

Non-residential Practical Dates:

Friday 11th July

Monday 14th July

Residential Times

Please note these are different times to our usual times. These times apply to both residential sessions:

Day 1 – 10.00am – 5.00pm

Day 2 – 9.00am – 5.00pm

Day 3 – 9.00am – 4.00pm

Non-Residential Times

These times apply to both non-residential days:

10.00am – 3.00pm

About the Course

The course aims to elevate the knowledge and skills of green and sustainable issues and solutions within community projects.

We will cover topics such as:

  • The 15 Green Skills and how these can be embraced at and individual and community level.
  • The Changemaker model and how to influence change in a community/group
  • Introducing donut economics/circular economy thinking to a project
  • Understanding and exploring sustainability and ‘green’ terminology
  • Utilising nature and the outdoors in community projects for food growing, wellbeing, biodiversity, arts & crafts
  • Circular food systems
  • An individual research project to explore a specific relevant topic or project idea

The course consists of 2 residential weekends covering the classroom learning (there will also be some use of outdoor space and practical activities throughout these), and 2 non-residential practical days in our grounds.

Entry Requirements

You must be working at Level 1 Literacy, or above.
