The study of crime and deviance holds a major interest for many people interested in the causes of crime and its impact on individuals and communities. This course will give students a deeper understanding of what constitutes a crime and deviance & some of the key explanations which seek to understand the root cause of criminal behaviour.

Entry Requirements

You must be working at a level 1 or above in literacy.

Learning Outcomes 

Students will engage in research examining the difference between psychopaths and sociopaths, and how such categories adapt. We will also examine the relationship between new technologies and how these have resulted in new types of crime emerging. 

Progression 

We also have several other courses in the Psychology area such as Psychopathology.
