This is a unique role in a unique college committed to digital inclusion.

You’ll need to be a Digital and IT expert, but you might have learnt that in industry and not necessarily at university. You must be an excellent teacher or trainer in this area, with lots of experience and ideally with adults (although this isn’t essential). If you don’t have a teaching qualification, we can help you with that. You will be free to develop your approach and materials within a coaching culture. And if you can bring other subjects and talents to the college, then we will make good use of them.

Your teaching will be varied and important. From community outreach which engages new learners, to the Essential Digital Skills and IT for Work courses we offer, we all need to progress through to Level 3 qualifications for practitioners wanting to enter, or progress in the industry. As our digital specialist, we’re also hoping you can inspire us to make the best use of digital in our teaching across the college.

You can join the team as soon as possible, but we are prepared to wait for the right person. We can also flex the hours around you, making this a 3-day (0.6), four-day (0.8) or full-time post. You would need to deliver all our different models (residentials, weekly face-to-face, online, and off-site). We’re a 24/7 college community, so some evening and weekend work is required.

Benefits of this role at Fircroft include free parking, a free meal whilst on site, free hot drinks, 37 days annual leave with additional closure days, Teachers’ Pension Scheme, a health cashback plan, NUS discount cards, a unique working environment, 6 acres of beautiful grounds and engaged and committed colleagues.

If you meet the above criteria and would like to apply for this role, please complete the application form and equal opportunities form below and email them to [email protected]

This College is a leader in the area of equality of opportunity, and we welcome applications from underrepresented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of at-risk adults is fundamental to our provision, and we expect all staff to share this commitment.
