Residential at the college (3 days, 2 nights)

This course will help you to develop the academic skills needed for further study programmes that require extended assignments and you will learn how to break down assignment briefs into manageable plans of action as well as develop the research and referencing skills needed for success.

 The course includes:

• Research skills - how to find and assess materials for reliability along with accurate referencing using the Harvard method
• Learning how to interpret assessment objectives to help you to plan essays
• Identifying appropriate research materials in response to a task
• Producing a clear and comprehensive essay plan
• Demonstrating accurate referencing
