This course is for people whose native language is English.

Functional Skills English Level 2 is a fully recognised qualification in English required by employers as well as colleges and universities. The purpose of the Functional Skills English qualification is to prepare you for work, study and life. Once you have achieved this qualification you will be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, listen and communicate better in English and you will be able to apply these skills effectively in a range of situations including in the workplace and education.

This course is ideal for people who want to improve their knowledge, increase their employment opportunities or achieve certain qualifications and who do not have a GCSE at grade C or above in Maths, or an equivalent qualification.

Our skilled and qualified teachers will guide you through this course and completely understand that for many people areas such as spelling and grammar can be a challenge. Our teachers are passionate and patient. They want you to love English as much as they do and will do all they can to make the lessons interesting and supportive to get you the qualification you need. Please do not worry if you have dyslexia or struggle in other ways with reading and writing, we can help you achieve in this empathetic adult environment.

Entry Requirements A certificate of Level 1 English is to be provided on application or if you are unable to produce a certificate, you can take an entry test to have your level of English assessed.
Progression The Level 2 qualification allows you to progress in employment or into higher levels of education including university.
