With the increasing need for climate awareness we, at Fircroft College, are taking an active interest in equipping our students with the knowledge and skills on environmental and climate change issues.

This qualification is designed to provide you with an introduction to the principles of climate change and environmental awareness. It will ensure you understand the nature of climate change and the role you can play in helping to reduce carbon emissions. Through achieving this qualification, you will gain the knowledge and understanding to act as a driver of positive change within the workplace and at home.

This qualification is designed for people who would like to learn about the environment and climate change and who also would like to further their knowledge in the sector.

This course will include some outdoor learning, exploring the Fircroft grounds and finding out about how climate change has affected our local environment. You will also learn about how the college works with and depends on its outdoor environment.

Eligibility Criteria

You must be working at level 1 or 2 English

Progression

After successfully completing this course you will be able to apply for a Level 3 course in a similar subject or this course could act as a springboard to finding volunteering opportunities or work in this sector.
