Our Courses Find Courses Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment This qualification is suitable for those who wish to understand the role of an Assessor, equipping them with the knowledge required to support the vocational workplace as an assessor within their place of employment, industry or educational organisations. This is a 2 week online course from City and Guilds. Course Date Wednesday 16th September 2020 - Thursday 1st October 2020 Course Delivery Online only 2 week course Online provision with tutor delivery and contact time. 20 hours contact per week Weds 16/9 – x2 2 hour sessions Thurs 17/9 – x2 2 hour sessions Weds 23/9 – x2 2 hour sessions Thurs 24/9 – x2 2 hour sessions Weds 30/9 – x2 2 hour sessions You will also need to commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week of independent study Course Level Level 3 Awarding Body City & Guilds Learning Outcomes Unit - Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment Key areas Prepare assessments of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding. Maintain records of the assessment of vocational skills. Gain an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment Eligibility Criteria Working at L2 in English You will be expected to complete an English initial assessment. You must have some knowledge, skills and understanding of the area you intend to assess, and the students you may assess in the future. You will need to complete an initial assessment before joining the course. You will need to have basic IT skills, access to a computer and WiFi. You will need to have a webcam, microphone and speaker installed within, or attached, to your computer to allow interaction during the virtual lessons. Progression After successfully completing the course you will be able to support the achievement of vocational studies as an assessor within your place of employment within industry or educational organisations. Through achieving this qualification, it will enable you to support your organisation and staff to assess and develop their current and future workforce.
