Heather Brown 


Heather has worked in the education sector since 2013, leading curriculum areas and working in quality improvements roles across further and higher education qualifications. Prior to working in education Heather worked in the legal sector specialising in litigation, but followed her passion for Psychology into teaching and has never looked back!  With a commitment to educating others about social inequalities and injustice, particularly in health, Heather found her perfect home at Fircroft College.

Head of Business Infrastructure

Andy Gazey


Andy has over 13 years of experience in Management Information and supporting systems. His previous roles include MIS manager for the National Careers Service across the entire West Midlands region. Andy has recently undertaken a Bachelor's Degree and is now studying for his ILM Leadership & Management Certificate. Andy has a keen interest in new technology and is eager to develop the colleges network and infrastructure in order to support more innovative digital learning opportunities for students.

Head of People and Commercial Development

Lisa Tomlinson


Lisa has a varied background which includes Recruitment, HR, Finance and Business Management. Lisa is our Head of HR, she is also an academy school governor and is currently studying for her level 7 CIPD qualification, alongside raising a family. Lisa’s background and qualifications in Recruitment, HR and Teaching bring valuable skills and experience to the college in the areas of talent management, staff development and employee engagement. Lisa is passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; flexible working; gender equality and mental/physical health and wellbeing.

Head of Student Experience

Lee Goodway


Lee has previously worked in roles within Student Service teams in large Further Education colleges. He has also taught English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Outside of education, he worked for a charity providing advocacy for people sectioned under the Mental Health Act. Lee is a qualified manager who is Team Leader for Admissions and Advice. Lee has recently completed a Post Compulsory Education degree researching how ESOL students can use transferable skills in the UK. He has also formed a charity with friends that supports individuals from new communities with employability and training advice. 

Marketing Manager

Penny Shinfield

Penny manages the marketing and communications at the college. She has worked in education and training for 20 years, working for a global engineering company based in London prior to entering the education sector. Penny’s career includes working in marketing, employer engagement and project management with government bodies, a large Further Education college and several universities. Working on European funded projects has led to Penny travelling overseas managing a vocational training project for educators as well as working with SME’s in the West Midlands on a technology project. Her qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and she is currently working towards the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Chartered Marketer assessment. Penny has volunteered for a number of charities in the past and currently volunteers for Alzheimer's Research UK as a Community Speaker.  She is passionate about helping people to be the best they can be through transformative learning.
