Mel's Lockdown I've been practising yoga for a few years now and try to get to a couple of classes at my local gym each week, usually in a rush before and after. But that all ended with the lockdown. Since then I’ve been trying to practice every day and when the weather is good practising outside. At the beginning of lockdown, yoga definitely helped with my levels of stress and anxiety. Being outside and practising with a soundtrack of bees and birdsong and children playing in their gardens is something I have grown to love. Yoga teachers always insist there is no ego in yoga but there were definitely poses I wouldn’t practise as I didn’t want to look silly in the gym. I’ve noticed my daily practice has made me braver to try new yoga poses and my practice is improving.
