About this course 

Microsoft Certifications give you a professional edge by providing globally recognised industry endorsed evidence of skills mastery, demonstrating your abilities and willingness to embrace new technologies. These two Level 3 modules allow you to verify your skills and unlock your opportunities and they are designed to strengthen your skills in operating Windows 10 and Windows Server Administration. Both modules are assessed by an exam, fully accredited by Microsoft.

Module 1: Windows 10 Operating System Fundamentals

The module provides you with knowledge of fundamental Windows operating system concepts in a Windows 10 environment.

Exam: Friday 26th June at 13:00pm (1 hour)

Module 2: Networking Fundamentals

This module allows you to become familiar with the concepts and the technologies of Windows Server administration.

Exam: Friday 17th July at 13:00pm (1 hour)

Module 1: Windows 10 Operating System Fundamentals

This module gives knowledge of fundamental Windows operating system concepts in a Windows 10 environment.

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Install and upgrade client systems 
  • Manage applications 
  • Manage files and folders 
  • Manage devices 
  • Understand operating system maintenance 

Module 2: Networking Fundamentals

Learn the building blocks of modern network design. You will study different types of networks, networking concepts, network architecture, network communications and network design.

 After completing this module, learners will be able to:

  • Understand Network Infrastructures, Internet, intranet, and extranet
  • Understand local area networks (LANs) & wide area networks (WANs)
  • Understand wireless networking
  • Understand network topologies and access methods
  • Understand Network Hardware, switches, routers, media types
  • Understand Protocols and Services, the OSI model
  • Understand TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6
  • Understand names resolution, networking services
Eligibility Criteria 

You will need to have achieved a Level 1 English qualification

You will need to have basic IT skills, access to a computer, WiFi and have a well-known web browser installed such as Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.

You will need to have a webcam, microphone and speaker installed within, or attached, to their computer to allow interaction during the virtual lessons.

Progression 

On completion of these modules, you may be able to study further MTA - IT Infrastructure modules to become an accredited MTA Professional.   

You may be able to use these modules towards applications for entry-level IT work
