This course explores how the great outdoors can improve your overall health and wellbeing. Re-connecting with nature is scientifically proven to improve health. You will use the local area and the outdoor environment to help improve how you feel. The emphasis of this course is being outdoors and engaging in a variety of fun activities. We will even do some gardening together and some team-building exercises.



3 day (2 night) residential courses cost from £0 - £50 depending on your income

Entry Requirements

You must be working at an entry-level 3 or above in literacy

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for people interested in the environment and sustainability as well as discovering and enjoying the mental and physical health benefits of being outdoors.

Learning Outcomes 

This course has more focus on tapping into your creativity and being outdoors. You will be able to develop an understanding of the benefits of using the outdoors to enhance and improve your own wellbeing and health. This course will also cover the following; 

  • A visit to either a local green space or community gardens to provide inspiration on what project you wish to complete for the course may be looking at how to grow your own vegetables, what herbs to plant to use as part of your everyday life.
  • The importance of wild meadow areas and how wildlife can assist you in improving your health and well-being.
  • Opportunity for planting your own creatively decorated plant pot!
