This course looks at the complex role of parent or guardian and how this relates to other family members in terms of their needs, with a focus on the skills needed to listen to children, understanding stages in their development and how they learn, whilst at the same time knowing and identifying what your needs are and how to meet them.

You will cover the following 

  •  Know the responsibilities of being a parent.
  • Understand the rights and needs of different family members.
  • Understand the importance of listening to children and giving them choices.
  • The major stages of a child’s development
  •  How positive parenting builds self-esteem in children
