Programmes
Many of you wish to undertake a number of short courses at the college, in order to achieve your goals and aspirations, assisted by information, advice and guidance from our Admissions and Tutor teams. To make this easier for you, we have created 5 Programmes for you to choose from. Instead of worrying about what course you should to do next, the Programme decides for you. We have spaced the courses out so that you can take a break between each one.
Our Programmes
Our Programmes are:
- The “Coping With” Programme – consisting of 5 short residential courses
- The “Your Wellbeing” Programme – consisting of 5 short residential courses
- The “Personal Growth Programme” – consisting of 5 short residential courses
- The English Programme (functional skills) – consisting of 4 short residential courses
- The Maths Programme (functional skills) – consisting of 4 short residential courses
We have decided on the courses within each Programme by talking to you, our students; liaising with our referral partners – charities and other organisations dedicated to lifting barriers presented to many people who want to learn and our staff who work with our students and understand what education people living in the local area feel they want and need to progress.
Our Programmes consist of a number of courses that all relate to each other, to help you progress and reach your goals as you work your way through the Programme.
Essential Information
- You will need to commit to attending every course in the programme for the full 3 days, 2 nights each course within the Programme, which will help you to get the very best out of the course and the full learning experience
- Many of our students are able to study our courses for FREE, depending on their income. If this is not the case, each course within the Personal and Social Development Programmes costs from £25 to £50 per course which includes accommodation, all meals and learning resources.
- Our Maths and English Programmes are FREE to everyone
- If you have already successfully completed one of the courses in a Programme in the past at Fircroft, you do not have to attend that course again
- If you are unable to attend one of the courses that is part of a Programme, please apply for a Programme where you can attend all of the courses. We will be running our Programmes at least twice throughout the year
