If you want to learn new outdoor skills, Fircroft College Bush Craft can provide the ideal environment. The outdoors will stimulate individuals and teams to operate more effectively in the great outdoors.

The course is delivered by Outdoor Instructor Paddy Doyle who is a qualified mountain leader, hill moorland leader, winter moorland leader and Mountain bike Instructor level 4.

The course involves the following enjoyable activities:

  • Fieldcraft hygiene
  • What kit & equipment to have and carry on fieldcraft camping expeditions
  • How to make basic shelters
  • How to use an emergency shelter
  • How to erect various tents
  • Introduction to basic fire lighting techniques
  • Why teamwork is important in the great outdoors
  • Basic navigational skills
  • Checking weather reports
  • What to take on camping trips
  • Field hygiene
