We understand that you may have recently experienced some of the topics covered in this course, which could potentially affect your readiness to engage with certain subject matter.  Because your well-being is of the utmost importance to us we would like to stress that this training course is not designed for personal therapy.  To help you identify if you are ready for this course at this time, we will contact you for an informal chat before the course, to ensure that you are fully aware of the course content and to assess your suitability for the programme

This course is for you if you have experienced trauma and want to further understand the healing process once it has begun for you or you may have a close family member who has experienced trauma/PTSD who you wish to support.

During this course we will explore key elements of PTSD and its impact on individuals and family.

This course will provide a supportive learning environment that promotes understanding, empathy, and effective strategies for coping and healing.

By the end of this course you will understand PTSD, trauma-informed care principles and effective strategies for supporting PTSD. Equipped with these insights and practical tools, you will be prepared to be self-compassionate and understand healing and safe spaces.

This course fosters a transformational learning experience, empowering you to make a positive difference to your life.

Entry Requirements

This course is for people who have experienced trauma/PTSD or for people who have a close family member who is experiencing trauma/PTSD.

You must have the capacity to be able to discuss challenging topics during this course

Progression

You will be attending this course as part of a programme of study – The Coping With Programme. You will be able to progress to our other Personal and Social Development courses where relevant to your need
