We are thrilled to announce that our latest cohort of Access to Higher Education students 2020/2021, have all passed their qualifications, as their predecessors at Fircroft College have over the last few years. Studying full time education can be demanding at the best of times but to do it during a pandemic where everyone has had worries about friends and family; concerns about their own health and their future and trying to focus on keeping up with the ever-changing government COVID-19 rules – has been a huge achievement. Fircroft was able to support the students throughout their studies – going online when necessary and putting health and safety measures in place whilst they were studying at the college to ensure they felt comfortable and were able to focus.
Our Access to HE Diplomas are accredited by the Open College Network West Midlands and provide students with an excellent stepping-stone to university. They are particularly for people who may have experienced challenges with education previously, are unsure of what they want to do next or who are not sure if higher education is for them. If you think you fit the bill why not take the plunge and apply? There is nothing to lose and potentially a whole new life to gain!
The Diplomas could be free to you depending on your financial circumstances and other eligibility criteria and you might also receive a bursary.

“The college’s priority is not just about teaching, it’s also about building confidence and developing the students’ skills and whatever is required in order to further study especially at university. English is my second language and I have only started learning the language five years ago and Fircroft gave me all the support needed.”

“As a residential student, the experience has been good with comfortable en-suite rooms and the food is simply amazing and all staff very friendly…the lovely gardens are a little haven of peace as well”.

From the kitchen staff, to the night staff to the cleaners and the tutors, I have been met with a genuine wish to be helpful, kind and supportive from everyone”.
