You will develop practical numeracy skills by learning how to use fractions, decimals and percentages in everyday situations such as budgeting, shopping and comparing information. The course strengthens problem-solving, logical thinking, accuracy and confidence with numbers, while helping you use calculators and digital tools effectively. It can support progression to Functional Skills Maths qualifications, further learning at Fircroft College and pathways into good work across a wide range of sectors.

Level
Entry-Level 3
Through practical examples and interactive exercises, you will develop the skills to convert between fractions, decimals, and percentages. You will learn to perform basic operations with fractions, compare their values, and apply them in various contexts, such as measurements, financial calculations, and problem-solving scenarios.
By the end of the course, you should understand fractions, decimals, and percentages, enabling you to confidently navigate numerical concepts in everyday life.
All learners enrolling on 2026/27 courses will use laptops, tablets and other digital technology as part of their learning
Entry Requirements
You must be working at Entry-Level 3 in numeracy and you may need to complete an initial assessment to establish if you are working at the correct level to benefit from the course
