This course has been developed for anyone wishing to pursue a career within the health and social care sector, and for students who have applied for one of our Access to Higher Education Health and Social Care diploma.

During this course we will look at a range of health and social care services and identify the best method of communicating information to people using them. You will also learn how to develop a creative activity when supporting those using health and social care services.

You will learn about the following:

At the end of this course you will have:

  • Explored a range of health and social care services
  • Gained an understanding of the most effective methods of communicating information to people using health and social care services
  • Gained an understanding of the value of using creative activities to support those using health and social care services

All learners enrolling on 2026/27 courses will use laptops, tablets and other digital technology as part of their learning

Entry Requirements

This course is for people hoping to work or volunteer in the health and social care sector.

You must be working at Literacy level 1, or above.

  • The opportunity to attend drop-in sessions with our Careers and Progression Coordinator for personalised support, advice, and guidance around your goals and plans
